The Five Mistakes People Often Make When Buying A Mattress

1. It’s on sale or it comes with free stuff.
Although this may be a good deal today if the mattress isn’t right for your
sleeping style or body type, it’s a bad deal!
Make sure to get sound advice or get “fitted” for the mattress using technology like BedMatch.
2. Because it has a good return policy.
Like the puppy dog in the window, “just take it home and try it, if it doesn’t work out you can always bring it back”. The salesperson knows most customers will never return it!
Make sure to work with knowledgeable people who have your best interest in mind, not just their commission.
Make sure it’s the right mattress the first time.
3. The mattress costs less than others.
There are great values to be had, but product quality always comes at a price.
Materials like foam, fiber, and fabric all have quality values such as density and load deflection. These will always perform and last to the level of that quality.
Unfortunately, a cheaper mattress will usually wear out sooner.
4. You did not buy the right pillow for the mattress.
Believe it or not, the pillow is an important part of your total body support. If your head and neck are not supported properly your sleep quality will suffer.
The pillow should be fitted to the sleeper and to the new mattress. One size never fits all and that applies to pillow too!
5. You bought a closeout, floor sample, or used mattress
When you see a closeout mattress set for sale, it was a used mattress or “comfort return” and or “demo unit”.
Even if this was a floor sample, much of its life is gone based on floor use.
Never buy a used mattress!
Sleep is the number one medicine on earth. Making a wise decision in your mattress choice will ensure you get a good night’s sleep and help you avoid a mistake that can be very costly in the long run. Your overall health depends on it!
